Health and Safety Issues to note: When filming we have to keep in mind that there will be other people around us at the time.

Potential Filming Problems: The potential filming problems would also be the fact that other people will be around also we will have to make sure that we can get permission. To make sure that we are ok to film we will make sure that we have our ID passes on us at all times.

The story that we were trying to tell in our video was an exchange going on between two people. A young lady who needed a crown for her master and a young man who was willing to give up the crown for a sandwich from the master.In our Preliminary Task, we included all the editing techniques that we were taught. For the Shot, Reverse Shot we included the young man and the young woman talking and exchanging the items. We also included an eye line match which was the young lady looking at her master as her master was trying on the crown she got her. We also included a Match on Action which was the young man walking out the door with his sandwich. We made sure that we did not brake the 180 degree rule in the process of making our video.

The objective of the actual clip was to show the conventions of continuity editing that we had previously been taught in class. For example, shot reverse shot, eye-line match, the 180 degree rule etc.

 

I feel that myself & my group did a fantastic job in coming up with a suitable idea for our film & being able to work together creatively to include all aspects of continuity editing into our film.

Title:  File 46-7 Tag Line:  you've got the wrong girl

Synopsis: Two friends find a disk (the macguffin) with stuff which shouldn't be seen on the disk.They talk about getting rid of the disk but one friend stupidly took it out with them. The two friends argue and then go in different directions when one friend gets taken by the owners of the disk. After that the other friend goes home t find out what has happened.

Key Genre Conventions: Macguffin – An object, which the characters desire which really has no real value to the audience.

Collateral

Collateral was directed by Michael Mann in 2004 and stars Tom Cruise and Jamie Fox. Collateral is about an innocent and funny taxi driver who happens to pick up this hit man (Tom Cruise) who is unknown to him. The taxi driver (Jamie Fox) is then forced to drive this insane man around to locations where he wishes to kill. The police have no idea that the taxi driver is innocent but know that the hit man is driving around in a taxi, so the police decide to kill the taxi driver to pin the crimes on him. This then allows the hit man to escape freely unknown to the cops.

Collateral was Mann’s first feature film to shot with mostly high definition camera. Before Russell Crowe became interested in the film, the film received no publicity and was unknown. Crowe brought Mann onside however, Crowe then eventually left and the movie was in the hands of Mann. Mann then went straight to Tom Cruise to see if he would play the main man in the film…the ‘Hit Man’. He agreed and the movie became a great success, it remained in the cinema for 14 weeks and millions.

No Country For Old Men

No Country For Old Men 

Narrative: No Country For Old Men is a movie where by the main character receives a fortune by luck but the cash was not suppose to be given to him. the film has a typical cat and mouse structure whereby a hit man is set after the man to retrieve the money and the man does everything he can to avoid giving the money back. 

Villain: Anton ChigurhChigurh is a hired hit man who has little if not no remorse or compassion for anyone but himself. It seems that he gains a twisted level of satisfaction and enjoyment from killing others and having a fearsome character. His main weapon is a pistol which we see him use on people and buildings to gain access. The character does not have much speech however through his rough appearance and performance a sense of fear and tension is created. The lack of speech in fact I feel adds to his fearful exterior.

Source Code

Source Code is an action thriller centered on a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown man and discovers he is part of  a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train.
 Source Code was Directed by Duncan Jones, Written by Ben Ripley and Stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farminga.
